Privacy Policy
How JDPreferred collects, uses, and protects personal information
1 Scope and Who We Are
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how JDPreferred.com ("JDPreferred," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you access or use JDPreferred.com and its related pages, features, tools, memberships, content, and services, collectively, the "Service."
JDPreferred is a United States-focused job-listing, membership, and informational platform focused primarily on JD Preferred and JD Advantage opportunities. JDPreferred is not an employer, recruiting agency, staffing agency, law firm, career-placement service, or agent of any employer or applicant, and we do not make hiring decisions.
This Policy applies to personal information JDPreferred controls through the Service. It does not govern information you provide directly to an employer, applicant-tracking system, payment provider, artificial-intelligence provider, or other third-party website or service, except to the extent JDPreferred receives or controls that information.
Our Terms of Service govern your use of the Service and incorporate this Policy by reference. If there is a conflict concerning JDPreferred's personal-information practices, this Policy controls.
2 Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account and membership information, such as your name, email address, username, login and authentication information, billing address, account settings, saved jobs, bookmarks, and job-alert preferences.
- Payment and transaction information, such as the amount paid, transaction date, subscription status, billing details, refund or dispute information, and limited payment-method details made available by the payment processor. Stripe processes complete payment-card information. JDPreferred does not ordinarily receive or store your complete card number.
- Communications and subscription information, including messages submitted through our contact form, customer-support requests, and your choices regarding job alerts, newsletters, marketing, or other emails.
- Employer-submission information, including company name, website, logo, job title, job description, location, remote status, application link, contact or billing email, and other information submitted with a job-posting request. Job and company information intended for publication may be displayed publicly. Contact and billing email addresses are not intended to be published.
- AI-tool and resume-search information, including uploaded resume files or extracted resume text, pasted job descriptions, selected job categories, location and radius selections, tool instructions, and generated analyses, summaries, scores, or job matches.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as your Internet Protocol address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate geographic location, timestamps, cookie or similar identifiers, and security, performance, or diagnostic logs.
Information from Public and Third-Party Sources
We may collect publicly available job, employer, and business information from employer websites, applicant-tracking systems, public job postings, and similar sources. We may also receive limited information from service providers, such as payment and subscription status from Stripe, email-delivery information, and website-usage reports from Google Analytics.
3 Resume and Artificial-Intelligence Processing
The Service may use artificial-intelligence systems to create job summaries, analyze resumes, identify career paths, review resumes, compare a resume with a job description, or rank and match jobs. Certain user-initiated tools send submitted content and related instructions to Google's Gemini API or another provider disclosed with the tool for processing.
JDPreferred may temporarily retain an uploaded resume, extracted resume text, job description, search criteria, or related request data only as reasonably needed to complete the requested feature, recover an interrupted request, prevent abuse, maintain security, or troubleshoot the Service. Temporary data is deleted or allowed to expire when it is no longer reasonably needed for those limited purposes. Completed AI analyses are not saved to your member account unless the feature expressly states otherwise.
JDPreferred does not share resumes submitted through its AI tools with employers and does not use those submissions to train its own artificial-intelligence models. When JDPreferred uses paid Gemini API services, Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve Google's products, although Google may retain limited data for a limited period for abuse prevention, security, legal compliance, and related operational purposes under its applicable terms.
Do not submit Social Security numbers, government-identification numbers, financial-account numbers, medical information, confidential employer information, privileged material, trade secrets, or other sensitive or unnecessary personal information through an AI tool.
AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or unsuitable for your circumstances. JDPreferred's AI features do not make hiring decisions or other decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning users.
4 How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service.
- Create and administer accounts, memberships, subscriptions, bookmarks, saved jobs, and job alerts.
- Process payments, renewals, cancellations, refunds when applicable, chargebacks, and related accounting records.
- Provide resume-based matching, career analyses, resume reviews, job-fit tools, and AI-generated job summaries.
- Review employer job submissions, communicate with submitting parties, issue invoices, and publish approved listings.
- Send transactional, service, support, security, job-alert, and marketing communications consistent with your choices.
- Measure site usage, diagnose performance, understand which features and content are useful, and improve user experience.
- Protect the Service, users, and our business; detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents; and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.
5 Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, login sessions, account preferences, membership access, payment processing, security, spam prevention, performance, and analytics. Some are placed or read by third-party service providers that support these functions.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service. Depending on our configuration and your browser settings, Analytics information may include session activity, pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device information, and a first-party cookie or similar identifier used to distinguish sessions and users.
JDPreferred does not currently display personalized advertising or use personal information to build advertising profiles for third-party targeted advertising. You may control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, payment, account, or other features from working correctly.
Because browser-based "Do Not Track" signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry, we do not currently respond to them. Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, we will process a recognized signal as required.
6 How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers that support hosting, website operations, membership administration, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, AI processing, security, backups, performance, and spam prevention.
- Employers or other third parties when you direct us to disclose information or separately consent to the disclosure. We do not share resumes submitted through our AI tools with employers.
- The public, when information is submitted for publication, such as approved employer job listings and company information.
- Professional advisers, including attorneys, accountants, insurers, and consultants, when reasonably necessary.
- Government authorities, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or property.
- A buyer, successor, affiliate, lender, or other party involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Based on our current practices, we also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or process personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable United States state privacy laws.
7 Job Applications and Third-Party Services
JDPreferred generally directs users to an employer's website or applicant-tracking system to apply. JDPreferred does not accept job applications on behalf of employers. Information you submit after leaving JDPreferred is collected and controlled by the employer or third party and is governed by that party's privacy policy and practices.
The Service may also link to or integrate with employer websites, applicant-tracking systems, payment processors, analytics providers, email providers, artificial-intelligence providers, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy, security, availability, content, or practices. Review the applicable third-party terms and privacy policies before providing personal information.
8 Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and protect against fraud, abuse, or security threats.
- Account information is generally retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Subscription and transaction records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, chargeback, contract, and legal purposes.
- Email-preference information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, although we may retain a suppression record to honor an opt-out.
- Employer-submission and publication records may be retained for operational, accounting, dispute-resolution, archival, and legal purposes.
- AI-tool uploads and request data retained by JDPreferred are temporary as described in Section 3. Service providers may retain information under their own applicable terms and retention practices.
- Analytics, security logs, backups, and technical records are retained according to our settings and operational needs and may remain for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
Deletion requests do not require us to delete information that we must retain or may lawfully retain for security, fraud prevention, transaction records, legal compliance, claims, or other permitted purposes. We may also retain aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.
9 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and promptly notifying us through our contact form if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
10 Your Choices and Privacy Rights
- You may update certain account information and communication preferences through your account settings.
- You may unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter emails using the unsubscribe link in the message. We may still send transactional, payment, account, support, or security communications.
- Depending on where you live and whether an applicable law covers JDPreferred, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information.
- Where applicable, you may also have rights to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain sensitive-data processing; use an authorized agent; or appeal a denied request.
To submit a privacy request, use our contact form and clearly identify the message as a privacy request. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, residency, request, or an agent's authority. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including when we cannot verify it or an exception applies.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. If we deny a request and applicable law provides an appeal right, you may appeal by responding to our decision or submitting another contact-form request labeled "Privacy Appeal."
11 United States State Privacy Notices
To the extent an applicable United States state privacy law requires a notice covering the preceding 12 months, the categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 2; the sources are described in Section 2; the purposes for collection, use, and disclosure are described in Sections 3 through 6; and the categories of recipients are described in Section 6.
We do not sell personal information for monetary payment. Based on our current practices, we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or process personal information for targeted advertising. If these practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required choices.
This Policy does not grant rights that do not apply under law, and applicable rights may differ by state, residency, business size, data type, and other statutory requirements or exemptions.
12 Children
Consistent with our Terms of Service, the Service is intended for persons who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. In particular, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
13 International Users
JDPreferred is operated from the United States and is primarily directed to users and job opportunities in the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws.
Where required by applicable law, our legal bases for processing may include performing a contract with you, pursuing legitimate interests such as operating and securing the Service, complying with legal obligations, and obtaining consent for particular activities. You may have additional rights under the law where you live.
14 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, vendors, technology, business practices, or legal obligations. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the effective date. When changes are material, we may also provide notice through the Service, by email, or by another reasonable method. Changes apply prospectively unless otherwise stated or required by law.
15 Contact
For privacy questions, requests, or appeals, use our contact form and state that your message concerns privacy. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the general contact form.
