Service 1 Federal Credit Union is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented and focused Compliance Officer (full-time). The Compliance Officer will be responsible for reviewing credit union policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all related laws and regulations applicable to the credit union. The Compliance Officer will also recommend policy changes to senior management that will facilitate the credit union’s compliance program, reduce risk, and reflect changes in regulations. Applicants should exude a positive, courteous and professional attitude. Essential functions include:
· On an on-going basis, review laws and regulations impacting the credit union’s compliance requirements, with emphasis on Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, FinCen and OFAC.
· Disseminate information, answer questions, and be a subject matter expert for the credit union on compliance, risk management, and loss-prevention issues.
· Assist in the revision and/or design of forms, products, web site, programs, or promotions to ensure compliance with all Federal and State rules and regulations.
· Develop or assist in the development of compliance training programs.
· Review and document high risk transactions and account activity with the assistance of the CU*Answers Audit Link department, including filing CTRs and SARs as needed.
· Manage the credit union’s vendor due diligence program.
· Assist auditors and examiners with their examinations within the scope of compliance.
· Develop and ensure implementation of record retention policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and laws.
· Review dormant accounts and instruments and file escheats with proper state departments.
· Coordinate bi-annual member statement verification with the Supervisory Committee.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
· High School Diploma
· Experience in financial institutions preferred
